The country crooner is the first performer to be confirmed for the awards show, set for Sept. 13 in New York City.

The performance will be Taylor’s first at the VMAs — and she couldn’t be more excited to take center stage.

“I’m so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform, because I think this year’s show will be unlike anything they’ve ever done!” Taylor says.

“I love incorporating theatrics into my performances and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that. MTV has been so good to me, and I could not be more excited about this year’s VMAs.”

X17 caught up with Twilight star Robert Pattinson Tuesday night as he was leaving Apple in Los Angeles. They asked him about Russell Brand cutting him off at the MTV VMAs and he said he thought Russell did it by accident. Rob also said he has no hard feelings. Aw, what a sweetie.

Man, it seems like everyone could be mad at Russell Brand for something as a result of his hosting skills at the VMAs.

In a recent interview with the Jonas Brothers, they were asked if they would ever like to work with Britney Spears. Joe Jonas replied, "Oh yeah, that would be crazy!"

Nick Jonas added, "We met Britney at the MTV Video Music Awards recently and that was great."

The brothers were nominated in the same category at the 2008 MTV VMAs. Kevin Jonas said, "We actually lost against Britney in the category we were nominated in at the awards. To lose against Britney Spears was an honour!"

Some of the High School Musical 3 cast, which included Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron and Corbin Bleu, attended the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. They were invited to the show to introduce music sensation Christina Aguilera.

I am beginning to think that Vanessa did not walk the red carpet at the awards. She wasn’t seen with Zac and I have yet to find one picture. Maybe she just decided to skip it for some reason.
