Bandslam hits next Friday (August 14, 2009) in theaters but the cast hit the red carpet last night outside Mann’s Village Theatre for the Hollywood premiere.  The movie stars Gaelan Connell as Will Burton, the new kid in town who puts together a rock band along with Charlotte Banks (Aly Michalka) and Sa5m (Vanessa Hudgens).  Beyond their wildest expectations, their little group ends up competing in “Bandslam” their school’s huge battle of the bands event!  Sounds like a lot of fun!

Aly and AJ Michalka filmed a video at the LA Pet Memorial Center as they bury their flying squirrel, Little Jack.

“Jack was a very special little squirrel. We actually got him into LA illegally. He’s a little trooper. He was marked as a hamster for LAX. They never found out!”
The sisters then sing Amazing Grace for Little Jack and their dog Saint.

In the movie, Will (Connell) centers on a high school outcast and a popular girl (Michalka) who form an unlikely bond through their shared love of music. Assembling a like-minded crew of misfits, the friends form a rock group and perform in the battle of the bands competition at their school.
