David uploaded a new vlog and writes, “There will be a Christmas tour this winter! I can’t wait to go back on the road! Christmas From the Heart comes out tomorrow!! I’m in Nashville right now doing some songwriting and meeting a bunch of really cool people out here. Time goes by so fast out here! But it’s been a great time so far. Hope to see you all out on tour!”

He also says in his video that “My Christmas album comes out TOMORROW and I’m so stoked. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it and know what you all think about it.”

David writes, “I gave up on the last blog, so I just made a new one. My cheeks are finally back to normal! I’ve had a nice time recovering though and relaxing. Went to the Colbie Caillat concert! Was awesome getting to see her again. She’s one of the nicest, casually cool people you could meet. Been exercising and getting back in shape! Going to Nashville for the week to start working on some writing and new projects. Christmas album comes out October 13th! Next week! woot woot.”

After talking about spending time with his mom, David writes, “Our next stop was in LA for the ALMA Awards! It was my first performance on an awards ceremony, and my first time performing on TV in Spanish! I have to say I was pretty stinkin’ nervous lol. It’s interesting actually because I was pretty nervous for both the US Open and the ALMA Awards. I think it’s good though because it gives you a little extra push sometimes. They make you want to do better, and also make it more memorable. So if you ever get nerves, don’t think that it’s a bad thing. They help you to keep working hard and improving yourself. I feel like when there are absolutely no feelings of being nervous, or I guess I should say there isn’t a desire to do well, you don’t motivate yourself to do your best and improve! You need to have some kind of motivation.

“But anyway, I had plenty of nerves over those performances lol. I sang Contigo en la Distancia, which is one of my favorite songs to sing so I’m really glad I got to sing it. I was so happy to be able to do it for all the Latin people too! I owe so much to the Hispanic culture since my mom and all of her family are Hispanic, and it’s definitely had a huge impact on the way I am. So I’m definitely planning on doing more in Spanish, and I hope this will allow more opportunities. So I need to thank the ALMA Awards for having come and perform, and it was really exciting to receive an award for new artist too!”

“I’ve been recording in LA and Utah this week and it’s been quite the work but I’m really excited for it all to come together! I really like airplane rides though because it gives me time to write and get really detailed in my journal haha. Anyway… I know that may have seemed kinda random but I’ve been on airplanes quite a bit this last week. But I think the Christmas spirit is rubbing off on me because I’ve never started the Holiday season spirit this early in the year before haha. It feels good though.

Well that’s basically all I have on my mind right now! I’m sorry it’s so short but I hope you guys understand it’s hard for me to explain a week where I’ve spent most of my time inside the studio haha. The Christmas album is almost done though! So crazy! I’m excited to start getting into the next pop album too. But anyway I’m done. There’s no reason to keep rambling when I have nothing else to say hehe. But I will talk to you guys later!”

The American Idol runner up writes, “So I was planning on doing a video blog for this week, but I haven’t been feeling too well at all for the last couple of days … I’m already feeling a whole lot better than yesterday though! We had our drive from Oklahoma to Arizona that day. I spent 24 hours on our bus, because even though we finally got to the hotel I was feeling too sick to move lol. But things are well! I’ve been sleeping, resting, sleeping and resting like crazy. Thanks for all of your concerns and thoughts! I’ve really appreciated it. I’m hoping to be in good shape for all of you coming to the Arizona show tomorrow!”

And while he was sick, David tuned in to watch the Michael Jackson memorial. “I was really touched by all the performances and the things that were said by his friends that spoke. It was a really emotional memorial. It really got me when his daughter spoke at the end, and my thoughts and prayers go out to them! I hope we can all keep them in our prayers, and give them the space and respect they deserve and need right now. Their dad went through a lot, but he did his best to keep his kids away from all that craziness because he cared about them and knew what it did to people. But despite all the things that Michael dealt with and everyone looking down on him, now that he’s gone it’s amazing to see how everyone has remembered all the things he’s done in his life that have influenced so many people. The way he’s reached out to sooo many that were in need and in poverty, and then in the way he touched people with his music. All I can say is thanks to him, not only for how inspiring he was to me basically throughout my entire life lol, but for his contributions to music and to the world.”

First David talks about working on a Christmas album. “For the last few days before I came to Connecticut for rehearsals, I was in LA recording for the Christmas album that’s coming out this year! I’m really really excited for that because I love Christmas music and Christmas times. I was also working on some material for the next pop album as well. It’s gonna be crazy working on all the stuff this Summer along with the tour, but I’m sooo excited you guys!”

Next he thanks everyone for his Teen Choice Awards nominations. “Today I found out that I was nominated for 3 teen choice awards! One for breakout artist, one for love song, and one for tour (with Demi Lovato.) Thanks you guys for giving your voice and helping me have the opportunity! And then there’s the PJs story!

“Before I came to Connecticut, I got to spend the night (and just for the night, not even day) in Utah. I couldn’t sleep, and I mentioned the cats on twitter… But I wrote a letter to a friend and put it in the mailbox that night, or I guess morning lol, so I wouldn’t forget to send it before I had to leave to CT. Well funny thing, when I turned the door knob it was locked. You can open it inside but not on the outside. I didn’t have my phone with me, and no one was answering the door. I tried throwing small pebbles at the window but that didn’t work either. So there I was in my PJ’s outside, without shoes, and cold! I ran down the street to keep the blood going and went to a friend’s house, hoping they’d be awake or more responsive than at my place haha. I knocked on the window that I thought was my friend’s room, but I’m guessing that I guessed wrong or he wasn’t awake, or something. I went back to the front and just knocked on the door, and thankfully his dad happened to be awake. So he opens the door and there I am standing in my PJ’s feeling stupid, but I was so glad to go inside somewhere warm! Anyway I eventually got back into the house, and headed to the airport a couple hours later heh. Well I thought I’d share that story with you all lol.”
