Zac Efron is definitely going for the scruffy look these days! His hair is growing out and he’s sporting some facial hair on his upper lip. Wonder if he’s feeling competition from Robert Pattinson? or maybe it’s for his upcoming druggie role in Hairspray 2?
MTV.com recently spoke with Hairspray composer/producer Marc Shaiman about the treatment that John Waters turned in for the sequel and he said it was hysterical. “Link experiments with drugs. Throughout half the movie, he has an ongoing dialogue with three pimples on his forehead.”

Get ready for Hairspray 2!! New Line Cinema has made a deal with the Hairspray creator to write a second movie.
No cast has been selected, and none of the stars had sequel options – but could it possibly be the same without Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, and Nikki Blonsky?!?
The studio does hope to reunit the cast for a 2010 release and Hairpsray 2 will pick up with the Turnblad family after the resolution of the first film, which was set in 1962. Excited?
