‘Private School Musical’ To Launch This Fall!

MTV is developing a weekly series that will parody Disney’s High School Musical. They’re calling it Private High Musical and it will be based on an online series of the same name.

The plan is to launch the show in the form of a weekly half hour series, as early as next Fall. “I’ve always been an avid musical fan, and when Disney’s ‘High School Musical’ became this big phenomenon, I thought it was funny that nobody ever did a musical that told how high school really was,” said creator Taryn Southern.

Zac Efron’s Crazy Hair Toss

Zac Efron was spotted on the sidewalk outside his home this morning in Los Angeles. While the paparazzi snapped pictures, he did quite the hair toss!

He also recently admitted to ELLE magazine that he doesn’t get why High Schol Musical was such a hit!

“I liked being the kid in the adult circle,” he said of his days at PCPA. “As far back as I can remember, I couldn’t understand or relate to a lot of kids. I still don’t understand how ‘High School Musical’ became a hit.”

And while he doesn’t understand it, he says he does love making this kind of movie. “I’m going to make as many lighthearted movies as I can. Every time we started a new ‘High School Musical ‘movie, I wanted to keep that kid inside of me alive!”

Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale helped hype up the High School Musical 3: Senior Year Ultimate Fan Pep Rallyyesterday at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

1000 lucky High School Musical fans won the chance to be part of a pep rally viewing of the sing-a-long-version of High School Musical and High School Musical 2. They also caught a sneak peek of HSM3!

Vanessa Hudgens is So Over HSM

Vanessa Hudgens has decided that she is so over HSM. Funny, considering it was her claim to fame!

“I loved playing Gabriella,” Vanessa reveals to J-14. “But the third time around, it gets really old.”

Old?!? But she does say that she’ll miss the gang when it’s over.

“At the same time, I get to do the movie with people I’m so close to, and this is the last one, which is really sad.”

Yes, Vanessa, it IS sad!!! We’re all going to miss the HSM bunch.

High School Musical Book – Along For the Ride
