Cherish - New Album and Interview

Cherish is an American R&B and pop girl group consisting of four sisters – Farrah, Neosha, and twins Felisha and Fallon. Their single ‘Killa’ is climbing up the radio charts and is featured on the Step Up 2 The Streets soundtrack. Cherish’s new album The Truth drops on April 29.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Neosha, Felisha, and this afternoon and they shared their thoughts on singing, some upcoming projects, and the meaning behind their songs.
So it’s been said that you’re a triple threat – singing, dancing, and writing your own songs. Do you have a favorite of the three?
The girls responded that they are all pretty equal, although singing and writing comes a little more on top.
I read that you have all been singing since you were little. Have you always sung together and/or would you like to do solo projects?
The sisters have no plans to go solo any time soon. They would like to do some acting and modeling. They are set to begin shooting a new movie, Caramel, in June. The movie will be released in Spring, 2009!
Where do you get the inspiration for the songs you write?
“Actually every single song is from personal experience,” they said. That’s why they named their album The Truth. “Every song can relate to a part of one of our lives.”
Do you have a favorite song of yours?
Fallon and Neosha said that they both love Superstar because it talks about people you love treating you like a superstar. Felisha loves Amnesia, the second single off their album. It’s about a girl who is hurt in a relationship and the only way she can move on is if she gets amnesia.
What do you do in your spare time?
“Write, shop, play Rock Band!” They said they are addicted to the game.
Do you listen to your own music at all?
“Definitely. I’m one of my biggest fans,” they shared!
Who is your influence when it comes to music?
The greats - Michael Jackson, The Supremes, Diana Ross
Who’s the favorite “famous” person you’ve met thus far?
They were torn between Patti Labelle and Will Smith, who they met in Los Angeles on the set of Wild Wild West.
What’s your favorite band right now?
Nickelback, Daughtery, Coldplay.
What’s your Fave Place to Shop?
Hot Topics, American Eagle, Hallister, and Metro Park for the best jeans!

Any advice for teens today?
“I would have to say definitely stay in school, be motivated in everything in you do … and go vote!”
