Cody Linley – When I Sang to My Girl

Did you know that Cody Linley sings?? Here he is singing Oasis’ Wonderwall at a minor league hockey game in February!!

Cody also spilled to J-14 how his crushes have reacted to his love songs!

“She Fell For Me!”
I do a few romantic songs – a couple of James Blunt songs, Oasis. Most of what I write are slow, acoustic ballads, but I’ve only sang for three girls. One girl I sang to was like, ‘Aw, that’s so sweet. You’re the best!’ Basically, she was crushing on me.

“She Fell Over Laughing!”
Sometimes, I improvise songs. That’s what I pride myself on most. I’ll make up songs on the spot, and usually they’re funny, not serious. I’ll make up raps on the spot too. The second girl I sang for started cracking up when she heard my song. I think she thought it was cool and that I was funny.

“She Fell Asleep!”
After going out with my last girlfriend for a year-and-a-half, I tried to put my heart into it when I sang for her. I picked out this really laid-back Jack Johnson song – and she started to fall asleep! I didn’t know what to think until she explained, ‘It’s so pretty, it makes me tired.’ I thought it was nice that my music chilled her out like that.
