Dakota Fanning to Play ‘Jane’ in New Moon?

Dakota Fanning is reportedly in talks to play the young vampire, Jane, in New Moon! 
According to E! Online, Dakota didn’t need to audition for the role – she just skipped right to negotiations with Summit Entertainment.
Jane is part of the Volturi coven, an ancient group of vampires based out of Italy who set the rules and regulations for all bloodsuckers worldwide. Although Jane is deceptively diminutive and young-looking, she has the terrifying ability to make victims think they’re in pain. The casting notice called for a petite blonde with a “Botticelli angel-like face…[and] crimson irises.”
What do you think of Dakota in this role? I somehow like it a lot better than the thought of Vanessa as Leah!

I don’t really like Dakota..she looks a bit you know “evil” sort of..Cunning and all. it would be great to have her as Jane. I think. Hope Vanessa Hudgens won’t be leah or something in either of the movies..she’s not that good.
i have no prob with the vanessa thing… but i’m not sure about dakota..

you know what im so against vanessa as leah but i think dalota will be great as jane she can out on an evil look she is pretty and is child like just put her red eyes now lol. the only reason i wouldnt want her to be jane is because shes already famous and the whole twilight movie has people who werent famous (not that much) and its better to pick someone non famous but its only a small role i say go for it.

Personally I feel as if they are ruining to Twilight series by giving people like Dakota Fanning(no offense because I love her and think she is an amazing actress) and Vanessa Hudgens(I really hate her and think she can’t act to save he life) jobs in the Twilight series. We want unknown actors. Also Jane is described as having brown hair and most people I have talked to and seen reviews online they have pictured her darker.Meaner.I personally think they should have open casting calls. Not in a lot of places but like New York City,Los Angeles, Orlando, Atlanta, Nashville and a few other cities around the country.Maybe even a few in Italy.
OMG! Dakota would be crap!!!!!! She’s a great ectress but this is NOT the part for her. Maybe it’s because I imagined her differently. You know, black haie, pale as a sheet, you know DIFFERENT!! Please don’t let it be Dakota!!!!
I think she would be perfect for playing Jane. She is exactly the way I imagined her, but with blond hair.. thats not a problem though, it can be easily solved by dyeing her hair black
wow. Dakota would not make a good Jane. im not so sure who i would put for it either, but not her. And im with all of you who say no to Vanessa H. ewwwww. can they not play her up more then she already is. If she gets put in the movie it’ll be crappppppppp.
i think dakota holds herself really well in all acting roles and will take on the challenge of jane with nothing but finness and persitance… she has been exposed to the movie scene since a very young age and it comes across in her acting ,, definatly one of the best actresses of her age. captivating and compelling in whatever she does…good luck,,,
as for the vannessa role,,,,i cant say im overly thrilled about that… ill half expect her to break into song in her wolf form and i have trouble imagioning her with the correct amount of hostility to play leah,, but well see how it goes hehe

I do NOT like any of them… I imagined Jane different and Leah too. Vanessa is just not the one for the role… It doesn`t fit… And Dakota is too… I don`t know, I just don`t like her… There is something about Jane, and I don`t think Dakota could handle it!!!
i dont like either, i cant imagine dakota as jane cos’ she has something about her that makes her cute and vunerable yet she’s actually evil. i dont think she’s suitable for the part. i would also HATE it if vanessa hudgens got the part of leah cos’ i dont think he’s a good actress at all!!
