HSM3: Prom Scene - Play But No Prom?

Little tidbits about High School Musical 3 have been revealed, including information and pics from the prom scene. But did you know that the prom scene is actually part of a play that the characters are doing about prom?
“We have a prom scene,” Zac Efron says. “It’s actually a play that we’re putting on about a prom.” I’m wondering if we actually get to see Troy and Gabriella go to prom as themselves?!?
Ashley Tisdale dishes on the dress that she’ll be wearing in the film, saying, “It’s feathery, it’s pink, it’s rhinestone, it’s fun. It’s really cool.” And Corbin Bleu also was happy with his prom costume, which had the last name of his character, Chad Danforth, on the back as well as his basketball number. Sounds cute!
