Lynne Spears ‘Was I the Perfect Mom? No’
September 10, 2008 by Julie Bonner
Lynne Spears, Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears mother, has written a tell-all book entitled Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.
In her book, Lynne says that even knowing what she knows now, she still would have let her daughters pursue their dreams of stardom.
"I think you have to let them follow their dreams," she says in a new interview with PEOPLE. "I think it would be worse in the end if you didn’t."
She also expressed regrets about not always listening to her gut. "Was I the perfect mom? No."
Why did she write this book in the first place? Because she wanted the truth out about her family in her own words. She talks about Britney’s publicized problems and Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy.
What do her kids think of the book? Lynne says that Britney and son Bryan have yet to read the book, but that "Jamie Lynn loved the book. I started to cry because I told her, ‘I wanted so much for you to like it.’ And she got up and kissed me on the cheek and said, ‘Mama, thank you so much.’"
You can read the entire PEOPLE article here. If you so desire to buy the book, it comes out on September 16th.
What do you think? Should Lynne Spears have written a book about her family?
