Miley Cyrus - Stole Song?
May 14, 2008 by Nikki Katz

Miley Cyrus is being accused of ripping off someone else’s song!!
Los Angeles band Lustra claim that Miley’s latest hit - Rock Star - is a copy of their 2004 tune, Scotty Doesn’t Know from the movie Eurotrip.
Lustra says that they learned about the song when fans alerted them. The tune is virtually the same, just with different lyrics.
Lustra guitarist Nick Cloutman adds, “Although we are very flattered that Ms. Cyrus took this route, we would have preferred some credit.”
The band is considering various options to rectify this situation.
The spokesman states, “The immediate solution is to minimize leaks, and keep all future recordings in a vault, under extreme security.”
What do you think - is it that similar or is Lustra just looking for publicity?
Listen to their song after the break…

eh. only the very beginning sounds like rockstar. other than that it sounds different
this does not sound like rockstar!! they are just looking for publicity… any way they cant blame Miley cos Rockstar is a hannah song so she didn’t write it
I don’t even no who Lustra are. Are they only famous in the states?
loads of songs have simular sounds and backing music its only the first bit of the song..
this is so pathetic, EVERYONE is always looking for a reason to write bad about people who are successful. This is really pissing me off, why cant people just focus on the positives? BLOODY HELL! Seren is right in the fact that ITS NOT EVEN HER SONG! Blame Disney for once, and even if you do agree with this weak argument (the cords are similar yes, but leave it be people!) it will be a total waste of time.
ok?????? seren, they can’t blame miley, but they can blame hannah……which is miley!!!! what’s the big difference??!! and to think i liked a song that was stolen…..WHATEVER!
its like an unwritten rule in the music industry everyone rips of everyone if you think “Rockstar” is like “Scotty doesnt know” then listen to “Doing Time” by MXPX they dont sound alike but the chorus are aranged the same.
if you compare everysong in the world to a another song you’ll realize everything is ripped off of something else…….. thats why when people describe the songs they write they compare them to songs written by great artist b/c people imitate great music to make great music its just how it works.
sry I meant compare “Doing Time” to “7 Things”
gotta learn to proof read!
Jessica…
I meant Miley did not write Rockstar cos it’s a Hannah song so blame whoever wrote the song cos she doesn’t write any of the Hannah songs so she had nothing to do with it. And its pathetic if anyone is not going to like this song anymore just cos one band claims that it is too similar to theirs.
true…..but then again, she’s performing it. way before, they said the producer of the show hannah montana had stole the idea of a boy who’s living two lives, being a normal teen and a rockstar. i think she shouldn’t work for those people! They’re just making her be accused of stealing!
But Seren, you totally have a point!
she didn’t write the song rockstar..so..what’s the point..and for me..it doesn’t even sound similar…
The Beginning sounds like just barely like Rockstar, and the rest sounds totally different and i don’t think that she stole the song!!!!
Publicity whores what a bunch of stupid hasbeens.
Even worse than The Rubino’s comparison with Girlfriend. If Avril wanted to steal a song you’d think she’d jack a song from the same millenium.
but search “sunglasses at night” on youtube.com
the first part really sounds like “see you again”
wow i just hate miley n she better stop this trash b4 she gets into worse trubzzzeeellll
hey, just for information its just this rule in the music industry that you’re not allowed to copy a _ amount of measures to a copywrite song. (not too sure how many measures!) and i guess that band has a reason to be pretty upset that they weren’t given SOME credit.. its just i guess “respectful” by following the rule. either way, i dont think its in anyones place to be involved with this. their managers or whatever should be taken care of it.. and its tabloids so half the stuff they say are probably not true.
*taking care of it
this is crap…they are just looking for publicity…
There are no simmularitys what so ever!!!!!!!!!
