The Jonas Brothers on Their Upcoming Album

March 16, 2008 by Nikki Katz

The Jonas Brothers are getting anxious to release their third album, and are debuting four new songs on the tour.

We’re so excited about it,” Nick said. “It’s really sounding great. We have some more Elvis Costello and Prince influences on it, and some of the Rascals and the Animals. And the song writing is mature as far as chord structure. But, not lyrical content, we’re not drifting off into the abyss.”

He added, “We’re just the same guys writing about the same type of, either heartbreak or great times or whatever it is. But we’ve really kind of tried to expand our horizon when it comes to the style of music and all that. So it’s really cool. We’re happy with the way it sounds.”

Are you excited for the new album?

Jonas Brothers to Wrap New Album Soon!

January 30, 2008 by Nikki Katz

TheJonas Brothers are putting the final touches on their third album, due out July 8 according to Nick. He told Billboard:“The album is the same Jonas Brothers sound, but with just a couple more influences. We have some more Elvis Costello-type influences on it. There’s a song called ‘Be Be Good’ which is definitely an Animals, Rascals type of influence and obviously, of course, the Beatles.

The lyrical content has gotten a little more in-depth as far as who we are as people and our personal lives, with our dating and all that, things we’ve gone through in the past year.

We were really able to put it into song and make it a really cool record. A couple of guitar and bass tracks got recorded on the bus while it was actually rolling.”

At least for now!

The Jonas BrothersBest Of Both World’s tour ended January 9 in Albany, NY, but the trio has a ton of upcoming projects.

Kevin told Billboard:

“There’s not a single day when we’re not doing something. Our goal is to never stop and to get it while it’s hot.”

The JBs are immediately heading to an LA recording studio to finish their upcoming album, which was recorded on a Gibson Guitar tour bus and set to be released this summer.

Producer John Fields describes the new songs as ‘getting a little darker’ but ‘still super pop hits.’

Kevin agrees. “We’re a bit older. We’ve had some painful moments in the last year. A lot of friends stab you in the back. And girlfriends break up with you, or you break up with a girl, it’s terrible what the road will do to you. We struggled last year, so we write that into our music. You’d never think on a first listen that ‘S.O.S.’ is about somebody walking on broken glass because their heart is hurting so bad.”

Upcoming plans also include the launch of single ‘When You Look Me In the Eyes,’ which will be performed live for the first time January 21 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the music video will premiere around the same time.
Their Disney series J.O.N.A.S! has been pushed back as a result of writer’s strike, but their movie Camp Rock is expected to break next summer.

Whew, take a breath guys!
