Kung Fu Panda follows clumsy panda, Po (Jack Black) as he dreams of becoming a kung fu master like China’s revered “furious five.” Po rushes to join the masses as they head to Jade Palace atop the highest mountain to witness the contest between Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogan), Crane (David Cross) and Viper (Lucy Liu). Po is first locked outside the gates but then lands inside where he is chosen as the dragon warrior! He is tutored by master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and the results are hilarious. Can Po possibly fulfill his destiny as dragon warrior, or was this a colossal mistake?

I love the casting in this film and the soundtrack is great with Jack Black singing Kung Fu Fighting! The animation is beautiful to watch and the comedy will keep you smiling the entire time. And of course the overall message of turning your weaknesses into strengths is something we can all learn from.

In the Secrets of the Furious Five, Po is told to teach some young rabbits the kung fu secrets. So he tells them some tales of how the Furious Five learned their lessons. Many people have complained about the length of this movie, but I find it perfect for a quick interlude, especially since it has the same stunning effects and humor of Kung Fu Panda!

There are a ton of extras offered in both DVDS including a Meet the Cast, information about the technology and sound effects, the Kung Fu Fighting music video, How to Use Chopsticks, a Dragon Warrier Training Academy game, a shuffle game, instructions to do the panda pose, a DVD-ROM activity kit, and much more! Plenty enough to keep even the oldest kid occupied for quite a while
