Taylor Lautner recently chatted with Metro World News about filming New Moon and the changes in his character!

Taylor talks about how his character changes in this film, and how he had to bulk up for the role. “I knew where my character was going in the rest of the series, so obviously I knew I had some work ahead of me! So as soon as I stopped filming ‘Twilight’, I got back home, hit the gym and worked very, very hard, and here I am filming ‘New Moon’, 30 pounds heavier.”

Not only that, Taylor gets to do his own stunts! “Basically you get an evaluation at the beginning of filming. They took me to a gymnasium to see what I could do. They put me on some dirt bikes to see how well I can do. I think they’re just figuring out how much they’re actually going to allow me to do. So far, I’ve been able to do everything, so I’m hoping that doesn’t change too much cos the stunts are a lot of fun.”

Taylor reveals that he was excited to be back with the whole team and the new director, Chris Weitz. “It’s been a lot of fun so far and the movie’s looking great, so I couldn’t ask for more. Chris is amazing. He’s extremely talented and he’s done a lot of amazing work. Everything is looking fantastic so far for this and I know it’s gong to continue to.”

The biggest challenge on set has been the weather. “It’s really funny because I think the ‘Twilight’ saga is the only movies where we have to stop filming when the sun comes out. So whenever it’s sunny, we have to either go to an interior shot or just stop filming.”

Taylor also did a lot to prepare for his role. He studied the Quileute tribe’s myths, and legends. “When we got up to Portland, Oregon to film, I was able to meet with about ten Quileute tribal members. I got to talk to them and what I really learned is that they’re not much different than me, and that was very unexpected.”

When it comes to his character, Taylor says he actually feels bad for the guy! “I also like a lot of the more serious scenes, the pivotal scenes in the movie, like Jacob and Bella’s breakup scene, which is the first time Bella sees Jacob after he has transformed into a wolf. And it’s really emotional. I felt bad for Jacob just reading the books, but now that I’m actually living this character, I feel so bad for the guy! It’s really sad.”

Taylor Lautner may have put on a ton of muscle for New Moon, but it looks like he has to head back to the gym before filming Eclipse!

“Jacob’s character is continually growing throughout the series,” Taylor told People magazine, “so I got about eight weeks off before I go back again for Eclipse and I’m going to be hitting the gym.”

Can you imagine him with even more muscle? Wowsers.

But, even though he’s going to be incredibly buff, Taylor revealed that he doesn’t want to stay like this. “When we’re done with the Twilight films I’ll definitely bulk down and just get lean again because I don’t want to stay big and bulky.”

Taylor Lautner says that he had fun with the action on New Moon.

In an interview with MTV on the red carpet at the Movie Awards last night, Taylor said that there was a lot of improvisation, but he preferred the action.

Taylor says, “We did a lot of improv on set, but a lot of the stuff I had fun with was the action. I was always finding cool ways to put some action in Jacob’s role. I got to ride some dirt bikes, which was awesome!”

An example of the improv was Taylor being in the forest and being agile after the werewolf transformation.

Kristen Stewart reveals that she feels less pressure to play Bella Swan than Joan Jett! The New Moon actress thinks playing Joan Jett in The Runaways will be a lot more intense.

Kristen is really excited about playing Joan but isn’t sure if she will be singing any of her songs. She told FilmFlick, “I don’t know if I’ll be singing or lip-syncing. Joan kind of yells so I can do what she does. I’m not sure what will happen, but it’s not up to me. I got to hang out with Joan Jett over the holidays, and that is the coolest thing I’ve ever done. She told me the whole history of her band and her life and what music means to her. It’s an enormous responsibility to play her.”

“When Twilight came out, people were like, ‘Oh, wow! The expectations of the fans must be really intense.’ But this is way, way, way more intense.’ I have to handle the expectations of Joan Jett! I’ll take the vampire fans any day!”

The never-before-seen clip is a first look at the much anticipated next installment in the Summit Entertainment vampire film franchise that became a pop culture phenomenon.

Hosted by Andy Samberg, the 2009 MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, May 31st at 9p.m./8p.m. central.

Dakota Fanning is already finished filming her bit for New Moon! She was spotted getting ready to leave Vancouver yesterday afternoon after only a week of shooting.

Up next for Dakota is The Runaways, where she’ll reunite with New Moon co-star Kristen Stewart!

Directed by Floria Sigismondi, the film is described as “a coming-of-age biopic about ‘70s teenage band The Runaways.”

Dakota Fanning was spotted arriving at Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver, BC yesterday! Dakota, who plays Jane in New Moon, has been spotted in Vancouver all week filming the movie.

Dakota was seen arriving with Rachelle Lefevre.

Michael Sheen has been tweeting from the set and he reveals that Dakota is unsettling! “I think Dakota may look the most unsettling though. So angelic yet so weird. As Jane that is of course. Like an evil red riding hood.”

Check out these pictures on the set of New Moon! Kristen Stewart, Anna Kendrick, Taylor Lautner, and Michael Welch are all spotted filming a scene outside of a movie theater.

Two scenes were being filmed. One where Bella and Jessica go to Port Angeles for a movie, and a second scene where Bella, Mike, and Jacob have an awkward movie date with a scary movie, The Dead Come Back.

There were a number of sidewalk shots, but most of the scenes were shot under the theatre overhang. Cranes and rigs held large diffused light globes, and the sidewalks were lined with bright lights.
