The Gossip Girl starlet rocked the stage for Tuesday night’s Teen Vogue bash in New York.

A source tells the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, “She’s been practicing for it all week.”

The Pretty Reckless also made a deal with Interscope Records and their debut album should be out this year!

The Gossip Girl starlet performed with her band Pretty Reckless, singing songs like Panic, Good Girls, and Zombie.

Taylor recently chatted with Teen Vogue about her rocker look. “I had long, pretty hair, and it didn’t fit me,” she said. “I’m pretty, but I’m not, like, a ‘pretty girl.’ So I pulled up a bunch of photos of Joan Jett and said, ‘Do that to my hair.’ I decided to start being myself. Now I do my own makeup, my own hair, and dress myself, and it feels better.”

Taylor says that music is different from acting for her. “I kind of grew up in front of the camera: I started modeling when I was two. I was never pushed into it, but I never really chose it either. That’s why music is so different for me—I’ve known since I was little that this is what I want to do.”

As far as writing songs, Taylor says that she writes whatever comes into her mind! “I start with an idea, an emotion, and I write whatever comes into my mind. My lyrics are my diary—you’re hearing every detail of my life. I’m still learning guitar, so I have a writing partner who helps me: I know what I want to do, but I can’t physically do it, so it’s good to have someone there who can interpret. I’d call my music rock, but with pop hooks. I grew up listening to the Beatles, Blondie, and Joan Jett, and I love Nirvana.”

Taylor finished high school more than two years early. “I found it kind of boring. I’m an artist; I’m not going to use trigonometry. Now I’m taking college classes online—I want to major in Language Arts.”

Taylor admits to being opinionated and says she has trust issues. “I’ve always been like that. People misinterpret what I say all the time: They think I’m being offensive, when really, I’m only being opinionated. Most of my friends are older, too. I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about—it seems so petty.”

She reveals that her parents trust her and she’s not a crazy teen. “I’m not dating anyone right now, but I’ve had lots of relationships. My parents know that I’m not going to date someone who’s sixteen. Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there’s just no way— I would eat a boy my age alive.”

Taylor also talks about being a finalist for the role of Hannah Montana. “I think it’s a great opportunity for Miley, but yeah, I guess I am relieved. If I had gotten the part, it would be a very different show. It wouldn’t have worked for me. I push back. When I was nine, it seemed amazing. But I wouldn’t have been able to deal with not writing my own songs. I don’t want to lose the artistry—a lot of people in music right now are faces—manufactured. I don’t want to be that.”

The Gossip Girl starlet says, “I’m nocturnal. I’m a vampire, I decided. I write at night. I don’t write a song; I write in a stream of consciousness. I never edit everything. I have books of lyrics. You can write a hundred songs from it, but I try to pick one stream.”

Taylor says that she’d been working on her music long before she formed a band and got a record deal. “I wrote the whole record first before I looked for a band, really,” she said.

“A lot of the songs aren’t specific,” she said of her upcoming album. “I write about how I feel and what I think and what’s influencing me at that moment in time. It’s not necessarily about a boyfriend, even though it might sound like it. Every lyric has at least four different undertones. There’s a light version … and then a really, really demented version. There’s different ways to see it. That’s the way I like it, ’cause I don’t want you to know everything about me.”

Taylor recently chatted with MTV about music and her band, The Pretty Reckless.

“In everything I do, I’m influenced by music. Music feeds my soul,” she said. “As far as style, I’m influenced by eras that had music [I] liked. Music became a persona to me.”

That persona started when Taylor was a kid when her dad played rock music for her when she was a kid. “I grew up listening to the Beatles on vinyl with my dad,” she explained. “So I grew up kind of listening to good records. I worked my way into Joan Jett and the Runaways records and Blondie and Garbage. Garbage became a huge influence on me.”

Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen look amazing as they pose with their Gossip Girl castmates at the 2009 CW Network Upfronts at Madison Square Garden in New York City yesterday!

Blake revealed to JustJared about her recent vacation. “I’ve traveled all over Asia,” she shared, “I went to Thailand, India and Maldives. I stayed at the most incredible place in the Maldives called Soneva Gili and you have to take a boat to get to your glass-bottom hut in the middle of the water. It’s gorgeous!”

She reveals that she rode an elephant barefoot! “It’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever done. I got a painting that an elephant made for me and that is definitely my most prized possession. And some beautiful jewelry from India!”

Taylor Momsen spent most of the day hanging out at Z100’s Zootopia 2009 yesterday! Taylor wasn’t performing with her girl band, Pretty Reckless, but she did hop on stage a few times.

Taylor was there to introduce All American Rejects for their performance at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ. She also posed with Fergie backstage!
