The Manhattan-set and modern-day take on “Beauty and the Beast” tells the story of a handsome rich kid with a mean streak. When he ditches a date, a curse is placed upon him, turning him into everything he hates. The grotesque transformation leaves him with the seemingly impossible task of finding true love to break the ugly spell.

Beastly is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2010.

The family celebrated Stella’s 14th birthday in Vancouver where Vanessa, 20, is currently filming her upcoming action flick, Sucker Punch.

Rumors are flying that Vanessa and her High School Musical boyfriend, Zac Efron, have split. They haven’t been photographed together in over a month. Is it busy schedules or something more?

Vanessa was recently up in Canada, filming her new flick “Suckerpunch”.

With boyfriend Zac Efron filming “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” in Vancouver, as well, Vanessa and Zac were able to hang out together during their stay!

Vanessa revealed, “When I was younger, I despised my legs. I thought I had tree stumps for legs because I was a dancer. They got pretty big at times. And as I got older, I learned to appreciate them because I have muscular legs. Not a lot of people have that and it makes my legs look better when I wear high heels.”

After that Vanessa said, “I think you just gotta work with what you got. You can always want to improve yourself, there’s nothing wrong with that. I think being healthy is great, working out is fun — go do it with your girlfriends. Just have fun, don’t beat down on yourself too hard.”

In the clip Vanessa tells ET about her character, saying, “I play Lindy Taylor, she’s kind of the beauty of the story but not the stereotypical beauty that I think everyone thinks of.”

Alex Pettyfer reveals, “Kyle is obsessed with his own vanity and can’t see the beauty of life, so he’s not a very nice guy.”

In the film, Alex’s character, Kyle, is cursed and transformed into everything he despises. “There’s a real undertone message of you need to love yourself before you love others.”

Sucker Punch is a fantasy action-comedy film written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder, who is also directing the film. The ensemble female cast of the film also includes Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, and Jena Malone.

Vanessa wore distressed skinny jeans with zippers on the thighs and cuffs, brown print sleeveless top and a brown scarf around her neck. She flashed a heart tattoo on her left hand.

Vanessa’s boyfriend Zac Efron is also currently filming for The Death & Life of Charlie St. Cloud in Vancouver.

This Hollywood starlet tries hard to keep her Hollywood life private, and she even just bought a new wig: “I hate the whole see-and-be-seen feeling. I just hate knowing that people are looking at me.”

She starts off talking about having several BFFs and moving out. “I came home one day and realized I had too much stuff!”

Vanessa also talks about how her dog Shadow is up for a Teen Choice Award and how it would be embarrassing if Shadow won but she didn’t!.

Vanessa will be attending the premiere of Bandslam tonight in LA, but don’t expect her to talk about those *ahem* photos that surfaced on the Internet yesterday. Apparently they’re old.

In talking about her character Sa5m, Vanessa says that she is “very deadpan, kind of introverted and she has a number in her name!”

Vanessa had to learn to play the guitar for the movie and she admits it wasn’t easy. “My fingers got a little bit hurt, got thick callouses, roughened up, but I had a blast … ” she says.

Vanessa also talks about her upcoming film, Sucker Punch, where she will play a hooker in the movie that follows a group of girls in a mental institution in the 50s.

Asked if she and Zac are going great, Vanessa confirmed by nodding shyly
