Zac Efron is moving into producing!

According to the Hollywood Insider Zac is not only set to star in a new thriller movie, he’s also going to be an executive producer with Mandate Pictures’ Nathan Kahane.

The film is being called a “sexy thriller” and was written by Leslie Dixon, who also wrote Hairspray.

Zac is definitely proving that he has staying power! His recently film, 17 Again, did very well in the movies, and he has also received good reviews for the upcoming Me and Orson Welles.

It will be interesting to see how this next film plays out.

Zac Efron is reportedly considering starring in the remake of the 1970’s film, Saturday Night Fever. I’m not so sure how much I believe this, since he just turned down the role in Footloose. I mean, there’s just as much dancing in Saturday Night Fever!

American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, is reportedly talking to producers about bringing back the film and wants Zac in the role that catapulted John Travolta to fame.

A source told MTV that Simon “has been drawing up a list of people he wants to get involved.”

As for the soundtrack, Cowell has plans to bring in producer Timbaland to redo the soundtrack originally recorded by the Bee Gees.

Zac Efron has revealed that he’s taking a break from Hollywood for the summer!

Despite becoming one of Hollywood’s most in demand stars, Zac will shy away from big screen projects over the summer - because fame and fortune have left him feeling out of touch with reality.

He says, “(I’ve) gotta regroup because this is all fun and kind of crazy, but it doesn’t make you feel like a real person.

“So it’s nice to take some time off and remember what your life’s about.”

Zac Efron was spotted with his latest signature messy hairdo at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Hangover‘ last night in Hollywood.

 
Zac recently revealed that he would consider cross-dressing for a role in the film Sucker Punch! The movie stars Zac’s girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens in an all girl cast. Zac says that “if there’s any way to be in that film, I’d do it. I’d play a girl if I had to.”

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted arriving into LAX airport this afternoon. Vanessa was wearing a red Dr. Slump “Arale” cap with white wings on the sides as she filmed the scene around her.

Zac is set to present Ben Stiller with this year’s MTV Movies Generation Award at the MTV movie awards in Los Angeles on May 31.

Looks like Zac Efron is on his way to Vancouver to film The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud this summer!

The movie, based on Ben Sherwood’s bestselling novel is set to begin production in July.

No word on the screenplay - but the book centers on Charlie St. Cloud, who I guess is played by Zac. The novel starts off with Charlie crashing a car that he “borrowed” from a neighbor. The hearts of Charlie and his younger brother, Sam, stop, but miraculously, Charlie is resuscitated. Thirteen years later, Charlie is 28 and working as the caretaker for the Marblehead cemetery where Sam is buried; he’s also spending every evening playing catch with the ghost of 12-year-old Sam, who’s putting off going to heaven for the game. Charlie’s world gets shaken up, though, by feisty, beautiful Tess Carroll, a sailor who had plans to be one of the first women to circumnavigate the globe solo. They have a perfect date, and sparks fly. But then news comes that her boat is lost at sea, and Charlie, whose gift of seeing spirits has grown, realizes that her fading apparition is the result of a failing effort to rescue her. Charlie’s final effort to save his lady love from ghostly oblivion strains credibility, of course, but isn’t that the point of a tale about love triumphant?

Zac Efron says he’ll eat almost anything for $20!

The 17 Again star reveals that he’ll try anything once and very rarely is something disgusting. “In Mexico I had crickets… It’s like a dish over there… It was like the most expensive thing on the menu.”

Zac says that they had “larvae, the flies… It’s great, it’s really good. It’s lemon and salt. It tasted like pasta.”

Where does he get his adventurous appetite? He says that it’s from his dad. “My dad always took me to get sushi and one time we were in San Francisco… and there was this octopus - it was, like, alive, wiggling on the plate.

“My dad was all, ‘I’ll give you $20 if you eat that.’ I was like, ‘Bring it on, man.’ So I ate it. It was like a cherry tomato. It popped. It was great… I’d still eat about anything for $20.”
