Taylor Lautner Has Gained Weight & Pushes to Play Jacob in New Moon

Taylor Lautner chatted with MTV News last night about how he’s still fighting for the role of Jacob in New Moon and nothing has yet been decided. Taylor also divulges that he’s been working out and has already gained 19 pounds in anticipation of playing the larger, bulkier Jacob!
“I have been working out. I’ve been working out since the day we finished filming ‘Twilight’,” Taylor says. He reveals that he’s promising director, Chris Weitz, another 10 pounds by the time New Moon starts filming. “I get to meet Chris on Friday, in two days, so I’m excited. I’m going to have lunch with him.”
Good guy that he is, Taylor didn’t want to talk about Michael Copon, who claimed on Facebook that he had landed the role. “I don’t really know too much to comment on it. As far as I know, I haven’t been told ‘no’ yet, so it’s still all up in the air.”
Taylor said that he’s not concerned that his name wasn’t revealed in the New Moon press release. He figures Rob and Kristen were named because they’re the lead roles in Twilight. “I don’t even know if they’re officially signed; maybe they are, I don’t know. They just hired Weitz, and now they’re just moving down the cast. All I can say is, I’m going to be ready if my number’s called.”
With all the recent speculation over his role, Taylor tries to put some rumors to rest. He insists his agent is not talking to those behind the effects of the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. “I think there’s a lot of things that have gotten blown up that haven’t really occurred. That hasn’t happened. I’ve just been working out for awhile, and I’m ready.”
Taylor also gave a shout out to his fans, who almost unanimously stand behind him. He says that he appreciates all the support. He says he’s definitely prepared for the role of Jacob in New Moon. “I’ve been getting ready for it, and I can assure them that I will follow through with that job.”

Even if the movie is amazing (which it will be) it would be so distracting if taylor wasnt in it.
That’s cute! Poor Taylor. I love him a lot, he’s so adorable. I just hope that everything works out. Maybe they can find a way to make him the right size for Jacob. I’d hate to have to lose him!

i just think it’s stupid that he has to work out and put on weight just to be in New Moon
if they think he isn’t buff enough then they shouldn’t have gave him the role in the first place [not saying that i don't want him to play Jacob]

I have to agree that Taylor is perfect for the part of Jacob…..Even though I’m not crazy for Jacob, the movie would be ruined if Taylor dosn’t get this part. Go Taylor!

If the new director doesn’t hire Taylor then twilight wouldn’t be the same and they would lose so many customers that they wouldn’t be able to make another movie. BUT I just found out that he’s gonna get the part!!! -JESSE-
ok so i aint tryin to diss or criticize noone on this site or taylor for that matter cuz i think hes a really cool guy, dont get me wrong, but how come everyone thinks hes so hot, i mean i really do wanna know this, i aint just askin to be an a**wipe or nuthin, but its been buggin me. but in my opinion i ndont think hes really that hot….. but could someone plz give me an answer to that?…..

i think the best actor to play jacop in the new moon would be Steven Strait…he is just right ..the smile,,the pain on his face,,,that’s exactly what bella is talking about in the story..even the angry face will suit him..so i think he is the best
