Vanessa Hudgens Auditioned for New Moon?

The internet is abuzz with rumors that Vanessa Hudgens did indeed audition for the role of Leah for New Moon. MTV sources Ashley Greene as saying that Vanessa auditioned for the role, and that she’d be great in the movie.
Of course Ashley’s not going to say anything against Vanessa, because that would e slightly awkward if she then makes it into the film!! But I haven’t heard too many people who are pro-Vanessa-as-Leah.
In fact, in the Junior Celebs Forum fans are saying just the opposite!

no waayyyy!!! she’s not even a good actress really and as an actress she wouldn’t be ready to play the part as Leah. Not saying that she’d win the role or anything anyways. but if she did…that would not be a good at all!
I can see her playing emily because shes so sweet and pretty. But not leah i can’t see vanessa hudgens as leah shes to girly to play leah
u know what? we shouldnt care because if she wants to get out of the disney world and become a serious actress then this would be good for her, i bet she doesn’t want to get stuck in disney films, or remembered as “oh vanessa hudgens? that annoying girl from high school musical?” I loveeee vanessaaaa and hsm!! but i really want to see her in different roles, “too girly to be leah”?? shes an actress.. shell get better with some time,.. girly? ok.. the costume designer and the makeup people can arrange that.. some acting clasess, and do something with her girly hair, and vioala (sp?) theres leah. just.. i’m telling you, GIVE THIS GIRL A CHANCE, believe in her. nobody really liked rob for edward, and now´girls wanna marry him.. not me.. but other fans lol… plus, leah is a tiny role except in the 4th book where shes EVERYWHERE!! but anywayy whatever let her live her life.
SHE IS SO FREAKIN UGLY AND SHE “WILL FAIL” AT PLAYING A NATIVE AMERICAN BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T HAVE THAT NATURAL BEAUTY THAT NATIVE AMERICANS HAVE! PLUS SHE SUCKS AT ACTING AND SHOULD SHOOT FOR PLAYBOY INSTEAD,NOW THATS HER CALLING.

I will be very dissapointed if Vanessa is in New Moon…I dont think she is a good actress and she will ruin the movie with her ugly face.

vanessa doesnt fit as the role for leah. she has had her chance. pick someone else, someone nobody knows like my bff kali. she is a great actress. heres people who agree:

neither vanessa nor brenda song fit as the role leah. they’re disneys angels. AND i totally disagree Dakota Fanning taking the role as the young vampire! she looks innocent
i agree with jacqueline and maria. she should not be in any of these movies! matter of fact she shouldnt be in any movie at all, not even in playboy or disney.she should sty in the corner where she belongs! go make my money bich!
